Sri Lanka’s Unbeaten Journey to the Finals
Despite facing some tough challenges, Sri Lanka has managed to uphold their reputation by securing five consecutive victories. Their semi-final encounter with UAE’s Esha Oza was particularly nerve-wracking, with the latter’s performance nearly tipping the scales in UAE’s favor.
Reflecting on the tense semi-final, Chamari Athapaththu, the Sri Lankan captain, expressed her relief at securing Esha Oza’s wicket, which she described as a game-changing moment. She also acknowledged the team’s collective happiness at winning the semi-final, despite the last-minute victory.
In their previous encounter in Group A, Sri Lanka registered a comfortable ten-wicket win over Scotland, having bowled them out for 94.

Scotland’s Dream Run Powered by Kathryn Bryce
Kathryn Bryce, the Scottish captain, has been the cornerstone of Scotland’s impressive journey to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. She is currently the top run-scorer and joint-highest wicket-taker for her team in the tournament.
Speaking to Cricket Scotland after her remarkable performance in the semi-final, Bryce acknowledged the efforts of those who played before her and expressed her satisfaction with the team’s performance in the Qualifiers.
Other key contributors to Scotland’s success include Rachel Slater, Megan McColl, and Abtaha Maqsood. While their participation in the main event in Bangladesh is confirmed, a victory against Sri Lanka in the final would provide a significant morale boost for Scotland.
