Fariha Trisna of Bangladesh Creates History with Unique T20I Hat-trick
Previously, the feat of securing two hat-tricks in Women’s T20Is was achieved by Uganda’s off-spinner Concy Aweko and Hong Kong’s left-arm spinner Kary Chan. However, Fariha Trisna has now become the first female pacer to accomplish this in a match against Australia on Tuesday, 2 April.

In the second T20I against Australia, Trisna dismissed Ellyse Perry, Sophie Molineux, and Beth Mooney in the final over, returning with impressive figures of 4/19.
Despite Trisna’s exceptional bowling, Australia had already set a formidable total, leaving Bangladesh with a challenging target of 162. Bangladesh’s batting line-up faltered, losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually losing the match by 58 runs, finishing at 103/9.
Ash Gardner and Molineux were the standout bowlers for Australia, claiming three wickets each. This victory gave Australia an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Trisna’s first hat-trick came in a Women’s Asia Cup match against Malaysia in October 2022, where she dismissed Winifred Duraisingam, Mas Elysa, and Mahirah Izzati Ismail in the sixth over.
Trisna is only the second Bangladesh bowler to claim a hat-trick in Women’s T20Is, following Fahima Khatun.
The third and final T20I of the ongoing Bangladesh-Australia series is scheduled to be played at the same venue in Dhaka, on Thursday, 4 April.
