Currently, the two teams are engaged in a three-match T20I series in Ireland, a precursor to next month’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Cricket Ireland’s Chair, Brian MacNeice, and PCB Chair, Mohsin Naqvi, have been in discussions regarding the 2025 tour.
Following Pakistan’s victory over Ireland in the second match, Babar Azam has emerged as the most successful Men’s T20I skipper. More details can be found here.
MacNeice confirmed that the discussions were fruitful, leading to the agreement that Ireland will tour Pakistan next year. This marks the first visit of Ireland’s men’s team to the Asian nation.
“We were delighted to welcome Chairman Naqvi to Dublin. The meeting was very productive and his presence indicates the strong relationship between the two boards,” said MacNeice.
He added, “We discussed a range of topics, including future men’s, women’s, and Wolves-level fixtures. We are thrilled to have agreed on a men’s tour next year, which will be another historic first, following our senior women’s tour to Pakistan in 2022.”

The ongoing series between Ireland and Pakistan is currently tied at one game each. The third and final match is scheduled to take place in Dublin on Tuesday.
“The Pakistan squad have been excellent ambassadors for their country during their time in Ireland. They have interacted generously with fans, and we look forward to the deciding game in the series tomorrow and our upcoming encounter in the T20 World Cup next month,” MacNeice added.
“The cricketing friendship between Ireland and Pakistan runs deep. Our first meeting was in Dublin in 1962, and Pakistan was our opponent for both our inaugural women’s and men’s Test matches. We eagerly anticipate this significant tour and extend our gratitude to Chairman Naqvi and the PCB for their ongoing support and friendship.”
