Dravid and Stokes Discuss Lessons from Intense Cricket Series
Following a narrow 28-run defeat in the first Test in Hyderabad, the home team rallied to secure four consecutive victories. They triumphed in Vizag by 106 runs, in Rajkot by 434 runs, in Ranchi by five wickets, and finally in Dharamsala by an innings and 64 runs.
India has maintained an impressive winning streak on home soil, with 17 successive Test series victories since their last series loss to England in 2012.
In a post-match press conference, Dravid praised India’s consistent performance at home, stating, “Yes, defeats in India have been rare. For players, it’s not easy to keep winning, and it’s truly heartening to see that over the last decade, India has been able to string together this successful series of wins.”
Despite the results, the series was closely contested. Dravid acknowledged England’s efforts, noting that they challenged India on several occasions during the competitive Test series.
Dravid was particularly impressed with how the team’s experienced players stepped up in challenging situations, especially after losing the first Test. He also commended the younger players for their crucial contributions throughout the series.
England skipper Ben Stokes conceded that they had been outplayed by a superior team, but remained optimistic about the upcoming cricket season. Stokes acknowledged that while England had moments of advantage, they were unable to sustain it, leading to their defeat.
