Samson lost his place after low scores in recent T20I appearances

Sanju Samson’s omission followed a poor run with the bat in recent T20I matches.

The Kerala wicketkeeper-batter was dropped from India’s playing XI for the second T20I against England after scoring one run off seven balls in the series opener at Durham. Before that England series, Samson scored 0 and 5 in the two-match T20I series against Ireland.

The report said Samson had played a key role in India’s recent T20 World Cup triumph and won the Player of the Tournament award, but the wicketkeeper-batter did not retain his place for the Zimbabwe T20I squad.
