Finn Allen’s 47-Ball Century Powers KKR to Dominant Eight-Wicket Win Over Delhi Capitals
Finn Allen delivered an aggressive batting performance on Friday, striking an unbeaten 100 off just 47 deliveries to lead the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to their fourth consecutive victory in IPL 2026. Chasing a target of 143, KKR dismantled the Delhi Capitals’ bowling attack, completing the chase in 14.2 overs with eight wickets to spare.
Match Summary: KKR vs DC
| Team | Score | Top Performer |
|---|---|---|

| Kolkata Knight Riders | 143/2 (14.2 Overs) | Finn Allen (100* off 47) |
Green Plays the Ultimate Supporting Role
While Allen dominated the crease—smashing 10 sixes and five boundaries—Cameron Green anchored the other end. Green, who remained unbeaten on 33 off 27 balls, acknowledged the rarity of witnessing such an explosive innings from the non-striker’s end.
“It was so special,” Green remarked during the post-match press conference. “You only get the chance to be at the other end a handful of times in your career. I was just playing second fiddle.”
As KKR closed in on the target, Green took on the responsibility of managing the strike to ensure Allen reached triple figures. With Allen batting on 94 and the team needing 29 runs to win, Green deliberately calculated the remaining runs to guarantee his partner secured the milestone.
“I did the math when we had 29 to get,” Green explained. “I knew I’d be the most hated man in Kolkata if I did anything else apart from that. Finn is very good at math as well, so he was probably doing the same. Getting the win has been the most satisfying part.”
Delhi Capitals Falter After Strong Start
Earlier in the match, the Delhi Capitals struggled to capitalize on a solid opening partnership. Pathum Nissanka (50) and KL Rahul (23) added 49 runs in the first five overs, but a slow pitch stifled the middle order, restricting Delhi to 142 for 8.
The Capitals’ defense was momentarily lifted by an unusual run-out. Allen drove a delivery straight back to bowler Mitchell Starc, whose deflection hit the stumps at the non-striker’s end, catching KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane short of his crease. Despite the breakthrough, Delhi could not contain Allen’s offensive output.
Allen, who entered the match with 110 runs from six games this season, accelerated steadily. He reached his first fifty in 32 balls before launching into overdrive, bringing up his second fifty in just 15 deliveries. The century cements his position as a standout performer for KKR as they maintain their undefeated streak in the IPL.
