Sri Lanka Recalls All-Rounder for Bangladesh ODI Series After Two-Year Hiatus

Kamindu Mendis, who recently made a triumphant return to the T20I setup in the bilateral series against Afghanistan and Bangladesh, has been recalled to the ODI squad for the first time since 2022.

In his first innings since his comeback, Mendis delivered an impressive performance, smashing an unbeaten 65 off just 39 balls in the third and final T20I against Afghanistan last month.

Lahiru Kumara, who last appeared in the format in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, also rejoins the squad.

Kumara will be part of a formidable pace attack that includes Dilshan Madushanka, Pramod Madushan, and Chamika Karunaratne. Unfortunately, Asitha Fernando will miss out on the squad due to injury.
