SCORECARD

Opening the innings, Amy Hunter and Gaby Lewis set the stage on fire with a 130-run partnership, propelling Ireland to their fifth-highest total in women’s T20Is.

Hunter started the innings with a flurry of boundaries, while Lewis quickly followed suit, reaching her half-century off 36 balls. Hunter reached her fifty off 34 balls.

The opening partnership was finally broken by Kelis Ndhlovu, who dismissed Lewis for a brilliant 69 off 47 balls. Despite losing Hunter for 71 in the 17th over, Ireland had already crossed the 150-run mark, finishing on 176/3 in their 20 overs.

Zimbabwe’s response was lacklustre, with Ava Canning striking twice in the Powerplay. Despite a fighting partnership between Mary-Anne Musonda and Modester Mupachikwa, Zimbabwe could only manage 120/8, falling 56 runs short of the target.

With two wins in two games, Ireland now leads Group B and is a strong contender for the semi-finals.
