In a significant update to the IPL 2025 schedule, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a rescheduling of Match No. 19 between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Originally slated for Sunday, April 6, at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, the match has been moved to Tuesday, April 8, 2025, with a start time of 3:30 PM IST.

The decision to reschedule was influenced by security concerns arising from citywide festivities. BCCI honorary secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the change, stating, “The decision follows a request from Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) regarding the deployment of personnel across the city owing to festivities. The authorities have recommended that the game be moved to Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 3:30 PM, and the request has been accommodated accordingly. The rest of the schedule remains unchanged.”
With this adjustment, April 6 will now feature a single match, with Sunrisers Hyderabad hosting Gujarat Titans at 7:30 PM. Meanwhile, April 8 will be a double-header day, starting with the rescheduled KKR vs LSG match in the afternoon at Eden Gardens, followed by an evening clash between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings in New Chandigarh.
This change underscores the BCCI’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of players, officials, and fans amidst the vibrant backdrop of Kolkata’s festivities. Fans are encouraged to adjust their plans accordingly and stay tuned for further updates on the IPL 2025 schedule.
