ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2024 Fixtures Unveiled

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the fixtures for the Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2024, supported by Dream 11. The tournament will be hosted in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from 25 April to 7 May, with ten teams vying for two spots in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 in Bangladesh.

Venues and Dates

The qualifier matches will be held at two Abu Dhabi venues – Zayed Cricket Stadium and Tolerance Oval. The final is scheduled for 7 May. Warm-up matches will be played on 21 and 23 April. Full tournament fixtures are available via the ICC Online Media Zone.

Teams and Groups

The ten teams are divided into two groups of five each. Group A comprises Scotland, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uganda, and the USA. Group B includes Ireland, Netherlands, UAE, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe. The top teams from each group will compete in the semi-finals on 5 May, with the winners securing their places in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Match Schedule

The opening day will see Sri Lanka face Thailand and Scotland play Uganda at Tolerance Oval. Meanwhile, at Zayed Cricket Stadium, Ireland will challenge UAE and Zimbabwe will compete against Vanuatu. Four matches will be played on each of the group stage match days – two each at Tolerance Oval and Zayed Cricket Stadium. The afternoon matches will commence at 15h00 and the night matches at 19h00 (Gulf Standard Time).

Statements from ICC and Emirates Cricket Board

Chris Tetley, ICC Head of Events, expressed his excitement for the upcoming tournament, stating that it promises to be a highly competitive and thrilling event. He also thanked the Emirates Cricket Board for their support in hosting the event.

Mubashshir Usmani, General Secretary of the Emirates Cricket Board, expressed delight at hosting the qualifiers in Abu Dhabi, and wished the participating teams the best of luck.
