Medical assessments confirmed the 18-year-old top-order batter suffered a severe left hamstring strain and a separate wrist injury, ruling him out of competitive cricket for eight to twelve weeks.
The Mumbai-born cricketer sustained the hamstring injury while batting during Chennai’s Indian Premier League (IPL) fixture against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 18. Subsequent scans revealed the additional wrist complication, forcing a premature end to his breakthrough IPL campaign.
