Azam’s Difficult Decision to Step Down
Azam announced his decision to step down as Pakistan’s captain across all formats. He described it as a difficult decision but believed it was the right time to make this call.
Performance at the 2023 Tournament
Pakistan’s performance at the 2023 tournament was less than stellar, with the team losing five matches and failing to qualify for the semi-finals. Azam’s form with the bat was also inconsistent, scoring a total of 320 runs in nine innings with a top score of just 74.
