Scotland Unveils ODI and T20I Squads for UAE Tour
Scotland is set to embark on a UAE tour for an ODI tri-series, featuring the hosts and Canada, under the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2. The tour will also include a three-match T20I series against the UAE.
The Currie brothers, Scott and Brad, along with nineteen-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Charlie Tear, are the new faces in the ODI squad. Brad Currie, who made his T20I debut last year, has already bagged 12 wickets in six matches.
Fast bowler Brad Wheal is poised for an ODI comeback after nearly five years; his last 50-over match for Scotland was in 2019. The squads for both formats will be led by the seasoned Richie Berrington.

Head of Performance, Steve Snell, views the tour as an opportunity for the players to compete in various formats. The selection aims to strike a balance between delivering strong performances in the first round of CWCL2 matches and preparing for future demands.
He acknowledged the lack of matches for the Men’s squad in the past six months, emphasizing the importance of providing as many players as possible with the opportunity to play, while maintaining competitiveness on the field.
Snell added, “These squads offer several players a chance to prove their mettle as we look forward to the T20 World Cup in the summer.”
