Goenka used social media to clarify the team’s position and support his captain. He directly dismissed the rumors surrounding the captaincy role.

“Heading into the season, I had read the speculations around @RishabhPant17’s captaincy and smiled. We have spent enough time together to know his character and commitment. Have a great season, Cap!” Goenka posted on X.

Lucknow Super Giants acquired Pant for a record Rs. 27 crore during the mega auction. The wicketkeeper-batter recorded underwhelming offensive numbers during the 2025 campaign, which triggered the initial speculation regarding his roster status.
