IPL 2025 Revised Schedule Announced: Mumbai Indians Fixtures, Key Dates, and More

In a much-anticipated update, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has rolled out the revised schedule for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, following a brief suspension due to heightened cross-border tensions. After extensive consultations with government bodies, security agencies, and key stakeholders, the league is set to resume on May 17, 2025, promising an exciting conclusion to an eventful season.

The IPL was temporarily halted last week amid security concerns following missile and drone attacks from Pakistan, which were effectively neutralized by India’s armed forces. Acknowledging their valor, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia expressed gratitude, stating, ‘The BCCI salutes the bravery and resilience of India’s armed forces, whose efforts have ensured the safe return of cricket to our stadiums. We remain committed to national interest while delivering a world-class tournament.’

The updated schedule features a compact yet action-packed lineup with 17 matches to be played across six designated venues. The season will restart with a blockbuster clash at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on May 17. Notably, cities like Mohali and Dharamsala have been excluded from hosting matches due to logistical and security considerations.

For fans of the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI), the revised fixtures bring thrilling encounters. MI will lock horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) at their home ground, the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, on May 21 at 7:30 PM IST. Their next challenge comes on May 26 at 7:30 PM IST, facing Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur—a venue shifted from its earlier Ahmedabad slot to ensure smoother operations.

The BCCI has also infused excitement with two double-header Sundays, offering fans a full day of cricketing action. The league stage will pave the way for the high-stakes playoffs, beginning with Qualifier 1 on May 29, followed by the Eliminator on May 30, Qualifier 2 on June 1, and the grand finale on June 3, 2025. While venue details for the playoffs are yet to be finalized, anticipation is already building for what promises to be a fitting crescendo to the TATA IPL 2025.

This revised schedule not only ensures the tournament’s completion but also underscores the BCCI’s dedication to player and spectator safety. With a legacy of delivering unparalleled T20 entertainment, the IPL continues to captivate millions globally, and the coming weeks are set to elevate that excitement further. As the league resumes, all eyes will be on powerhouse teams like Mumbai Indians, who, under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, aim to reclaim their dominance with a record sixth title.
