Addressing ongoing conspiracy theories regarding pitch manipulation and favorable umpiring, Wasim urged critics to recognize India’s current superiority in international cricket.
Dismissing Pitch Manipulation Claims
Speaking on a Pakistani television program, Wasim targeted the recurring narrative among certain regional analysts who claim global tournaments are tailored for Indian success. He highlighted India’s flawless campaign, which culminated in a historic seven-run victory over South Africa at Kensington Oval in Barbados, as absolute proof of their merit.
“We always hear people saying that umpires favor India or that they prepare spin-friendly pitches, but you have to agree that in this tournament, the pitches were very well balanced,” Wasim stated. “Sometimes, the conditions were even against India, but they still managed to deliver a dominating performance.”
