The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have officially appointed former England wicketkeeper-batter James Foster as their new fielding coach ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. The 45-year-old takes charge of the fielding department, joining a highly experienced backroom staff for the five-time IPL champions.

Foster integrates into a veteran coaching group that has maintained structural consistency for over a decade. He brings direct IPL coaching experience, having previously operated as both fielding and assistant coach for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) between 2020 and 2023.

He previously guided the Desert Vipers to the International League T20 (ILT20) final and currently serves as an assistant coach for Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred.
